Reason alone is never going to be enough to inspire people?

  • Although i am an atheist i believe that there is a great deal of spirituality within each of us. This is what kept me going when i was suffering with no roof above my head in the freezing winter for years.

    However my understanding of god or whatever you call it does not come from any books or religions. it comes from within me

    willing to accept joy, suffering, pain, abuse and still do the best you can to go ahead and live your life with dignity, and extend the same to others , to me has become my god

    why do religious people dislike this discription of god?


  • hi,we have wisdom,heart ,feeling and they accompanied by together guidance us,also they proved us that there are a god ,we can follow our heart and select every reigion or dont select and only know he is here.in our heart.

    I feel that I am spiritual and also proud on religion but at the same time I know that God is belongs to all religion and everyone, so I also respect whether they are religious or atheist.

  • I'm inspired rather frequently by reason. I find human potential and the mysteries of the universe to be very inspiring.

    I'm not so sure what you're getting at with the rest of your question, though.


  • I think that there are so many things that are out of our control, that our minds must find a way of thinking that alliviates the stress / chaos or situations.

    It does this by making us link experience & memories together and then we reach a conclusion, because we have no actual proof or solid firm truth our minds will accept what our findings are.

    So its in a sense creating some control over the worldly problems, by narrowing down what the cause and effects are.

  • Extremists dislike it. Religious people just accept you as a fellow human with your own set of beliefs.


  • I dislike it too. I tend to call it human will and look at it scientifically. Nothing spiritual


  • They want to anthropomorphize their fictional 'god'. It makes an image in their minds they can deal with.
